Good morning, Team! It’s Friday!
I can count on one hand the number of people who have walked a similar path ahead of me who took the time to look over their shoulder, notice I needed a hand, stopped to listen and then helped put an action plan together.
Not just a coach…
Not just a leader…
Not just a facilitator…
Not just a confidante…
A close, close friend.
Some days a sunshine pump and other days a curious collaborator.
Together, we have navigated multiple challenges:
•loneliness in the CEO chair making excruciatingly difficult decisions, realizing it probably won’t lead to sustainable success, or winning popularity contests, but you do it because it’s the right thing
•managing family dynamics that stem from extreme investment of time and talents to build something that creates momentum for thousands of families and for decades to come
•wrestling with personal choices like putting your health first because you can’t help others if you aren’t mentally sharp and physically fit
Today, we share joy and tragedy, and everything in between, with spouses who complete us.
Circumstances have changed but the relationship keeps growing.
Thank you, Clayton!
If you don’t have a mentor, I’d encourage you to search one out.
And depending on where you are in your own journey, you might consider paying it forward and becoming a mentor yourself.
The two are not mutually exclusive.
I’ve come to believe the best mentors are also willing to be mentored.
Have a blessed weekend!
Eric
